Three people were shot early Wednesday morning in the parking lot of an MBTA station in Brockton, Massachusetts, police said. Officers responded to the shooting at 3:13 a.m. at the Montello station on Spark Street. Police are investigating reports that more than two dozen people were gathered in the parking lot for a meet and greet with cars when shots rang out and that two dark-colored SUVs left the area a short time later. Two victims, a man and a woman, were dropped off at a hospital and the third victim was taken by ambulance to another hospital. Authorities said the victims are in stable condition. Aileen Hayes works at Montilio’s Bakery, which is next to the MBTA parking lot. She said drivers at the bakery heard the shots just after 3 a.m. “They saw a group of teenagers, like they normally do. When they heard the shots, they thought it was fireworks at first, but then they realized it wasn’t. I heard one of the drivers try to help the kids on the ground, and then someone got thrown in the car and he rushed to the hospital,” she said. Transit Police are on the scene with Brockton police officers and detectives, and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Brockton detectives at 508-941-0234.
