CHICAGO (WLS) — The 2024 NASCAR Chicago Street Race will be held in and around Grant Park on July 6-7. In addition to two major races, the event will also feature a family-friendly live music festival featuring performances by The Black Keys, The Chainsmokers and Keith Urban.
Many streets are currently closed and routes are being diverted as the city works to build the winding course, as fans flock to the city over the July 4th long weekend.

Country singer Keith Urban headlined the main stage in Grant Park on Sunday afternoon ahead of the big race.
Lauren Alaina also performed earlier in the day. Buddy Guy, The Chainsmokers and The Black Keys performed on Saturday.
Every moment led up to Sunday’s big event: the NASCAR Cup Series street race in downtown Chicago.
The race starts at 3:30 p.m., with 75 laps on a challenging street course that runs through Chicago’s Loop.
Drivers to watch include Shane van Gisbergen, who won Saturday’s Xfinity Series race, and Kyle Larson, who took the pole position during qualifying for the Cup Series race.

Houston was part of last year’s winning pit crew, helping Shane van Gisbergen drive his No. 91 Chevy Camaro for Trackhouse Racing to a historic victory.
Houston, who has 19 years of experience, told ABC7 that Sunday’s pit stops will be just 9 seconds!
“We’re definitely going to be fast today,” Houston said.
