Toddler, teens injured in shooting where dozens of shots were fired – NBC10 Philadelphia

A two-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl are in hospital after a shooting in North Philadelphia Thursday night.

Police reported around 8:41 p.m. that a toddler and a teenager were found with gunshot wounds in the 1300 block of N. 11th Street.

Police said the two-year-old boy was shot twice in the leg and the 15-year-old girl was shot once in the leg.

Both victims were taken to hospital and are in stable condition, police said. They will be transferred to a children’s hospital by private ambulance.

After police arrived on the scene, they were told a 17-year-old victim had arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his ankle. The 17-year-old told police he had also been shot near 11th Street, Small said.

Police Chief Scott Small said the boy and girl are believed to be related and were outside their home when they were both struck by gunfire.

Police found more than 30 spent shell casings at the scene of the shooting. The shots were fired from the 1300 block of N. 11th Stret to the 1400 block of N. 11th Street, which is a two-block radius, Small said.

Police do not yet know who the target was and suspect the victims were hit by stray bullets.

Surveillance footage from the area showed a white SUV with tinted windows exiting and opening fire, Small said.

That vehicle was last seen traveling north on 11th Street from the 1400 block.

Police have not seized any weapons or made any arrests at this time.
